The Power of Words Our very thoughts, words and actions ripple off into the universe with effects far beyond our understanding. Everything is interrelated and we are indeed responsible for what we say, think or do, for ourselves, everyone and everything in the whole universe. How thoughts and words can affect water structure. Have a look - You will be truly amazed!

We are highly creative beings and the words we use have creative energy. We therefore want to be careful about the choice of our words when we talk. This is especially important before, during and after Reiki session. We are creating space for healing and support this by using kind, loving and absolutely positive wording. Refrain from any judgment or labeling of a persons situation, feelings and emotions. As a Reiki practitioner we are asked to offer loving compassion and understanding at all times.

Ethics
Closely tied into the Reiki Principles is our personal ethic and responsibility as a Reiki practitioner. By choosing our path as a healer we accept the responsibility to be kind and loving to all beings, regardless of their race or attitude. To offer acceptance and compassion not judgment and condemnation, and to always focus on the positive. We keep the focus on well-being and the opportunity for change and healing. Avoid talking about this and that "problem".

Legal Aspects
Words like diagnose, treat, cure, patient are copyrighted by the American Medical Association. You may want to check into the legal aspects around alternative healing and holistic health counseling in your country. For the United States there is a booklet available with the title
Legal and Administrative Aspects of a Holistic Health Practice.
It is written by Chester P. Yozwick.
Many Reiki practitioners in the United States choose to become ministers of healing churches to circumvent controversy.
