Drawing the Reiki symbols
This again is a touchy topic, as traditional teaching considers the symbols secret. The Reiki symbols are sacred, not secret. Actually, the third symbol and the Usui master symbol are written in Kanji, and not at all secret. It is used and shown in temples and scripts.Dai Ko Myo for example, is a normal word in Japanese and millions of buddhists use it daily - even after a gallon of sake :). Dai Ko Myo is taught to children in the very first class. The word Hon is the Ni-Hon and means Japan. Sha simply stands for person and every child in Japan knows this. Ze and Sho means order and justice (rightness). Nen means "heart intention".
With this in mind, I do show the Reiki symbols online, and how to draw them, knowing that not every school approves of this openness. There are three symbols to be learned and remembered in Level II. I am going to call them by their name. Traditional teaching calls them symbol 1, 2, etc.
Available now for easy practice, strong and washable:
Set of 4 large symbols on laminated 8.5x11 stock for $20.00/set
Cho-Ku-Rei - Sei-He-Ki - Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen traditional and non-traditional
ORDER the Level II Symbol-SetIt is a course requirement that you remember the name of these symbols, and how to draw them correctly in sequence of the strokes. They can be drawn in big movements with the whole hand or the palm, with the fingertips, the index finger, with your eyes, etc.
There are various alternative symbols as well as variations in how the different symbols are drawn. You will find a few non-Reiki symbols too. I refer you to Diane's book to view them. Play a bit with them and see if you prefer one over the other. Follow your instinct.
