Energy Exchange
To charge or not to charge. This is a question so frequently asked that I would like to share a few different points of view.

The first one, of course, goes way back to the times when Mikao Usui struggled with the same question. Initially he healed people for free. He soon found that they didn't value his gifts and didn't bother to change their lives. Usui then decided to charge for his services, knowing that people who were willing to pay, would also appreciate the healing.

People seem to be unable to value something that is given to them for free. And this is still quite accurate today.

There is then the complete opposite that some people feel, Reiki being the Universal Life Force, Universal Love, should be given freely and completely at no charge at all.

Now there is always the golden way in between, which I choose to take. I do not charge for Reiki, but I do charge for my time. My day is devoted to Reiki, be it teaching, working on my web site or doing local and absentee healing work. If I would be working a regular job, there would hardly be any time for the work I am doing. So I charge reasonable fees and carry on with my healing work.

Animalspirits A Question on Appreciation
What is your health and well-being worth to you?
Wellness has a value and that value reflects the self love and feeling of worthiness of the person seeking help. The trouble is that so many of us do not see themselves as deserving and worthy of love, happiness, joy and health, including money.

The Nord American Native Tradition teaches us that there has to be an energy exchange always. The form this exchange takes is not so important. It can be money or anything else. The emphasis is on the energy exchange.

It may be a valuable experience to have a closer look at one's own belief about money. Money can be a beautiful tool for exchanging energy. What really matters is our attitude towards money...... like money is dirty, or healers are poor, people who help others do not ask for money, artists dye before they are famous, etc. etc. ....

All such beliefs are not helpful. We need to get clarity about our beliefs around money.

Every Reiki practitioner and teacher has to come to his own terms within herself about this.
Our hearts yearn to be of service to our fellow humans, and we are deeply conditioned over thousands of years, that such service should be free.

Money itself has a completely neutral energy. It will take on whatever energy attribute we give to it. It is our choice.
