Passing Attunements
Being a rite of passage, the Reiki attunement is considered sacred. A beautiful gift.

Creating a Sacred Space

Cleanse and smudge the place where you will perform the attunement ritual. Play some gentle healing music of your choice. Light candles.
Burn sage or incense. If there are more people to be attuned have the ones that are waiting sing the HU or Om, use singing bowls or tibetan bells, a rain stick etc. These are a few suggestions. Create your own sacred space.

Preparation
Offer a prayer of gratitude. Quieten your mind, sink within.
Invite your Reiki Guides to assist you.
Hold the clear intention of passing on the sacred Reiki attunement.

The Attunement Process

Your person sits on a stool or straight backed chair with her hands in front of her chest in praying position.
You are standing behind her.
Breathe in, hold your breath and Huyin (tongue at the palate).
Open the crown (by means of opening hand movement).
Draw or visualize Dai-Ko-Myo.
Reach forward, take the initiate's hands and blow into crown.
Take a new breath and hold.
Put Cho-Ku-Rei, Sei-He-Ki, Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen into crown by drawing the symbols with your hand (for Level III add Dai-Ko-Myo).
Reach forward, take the initiate's hands and blow into crown.
Take a new breath and hold.
Come to the person's front.
Take her hands and open them like a book.
Draw with your hands Cho-Ku-Rei, with your fingertips tap three times on her hands then draw Sei-He-Ki, tap three times with your hands, then draw Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen and tap three times
(for Level III draw Dai-Ko-Myo and tap three times) with your hands.
Fold her hand together again back into praying position.
Hold her praying hands with one hand.
Bend down and blow from root to crown.
Take another breath.
Stand again behind your person.
Close her aura. Do not close her crown !
Draw Raku down her back.
Breathe out.
Release Huyin.
Smoothen her aura with very gentle upward strokes.
   Thank your Guides

To practice the attunement process you can use an imaginary person or a teddy bear if you are not comfortable with a person to begin with. Remember, you cannot do the attunement wrong or do any harm. You have invited your guides to help you. You are holding the intention and are going through the procedure and movements - your guides will to the rest. They will correct any mistake. You are functioning as a instrument - the guides are doing the work.

The Distant Attunement

The HU - A Love Song to God ¹
HU is an ancient name for God. It's a love song to God.

HU is woven into the language of life. It is the sound of all sounds. It is the wind in the leaves, falling, rain, thunder of jets, singing of birds, the awful rumble of a tornado. Its sound is heard in laughter, weeping, the din of city traffic, ocean waves, and the quiet rippling of a mountain stream. And yet, the word HU is not God ITSELF. It is a word people anywhere can use to address the Originator of Live.
