Qigong
Qi flow - Energy flow
Qigong is composed of two Chinese characters, Qi, which means energy, and gong, which means skill or more precisely, accomplishment as a result of a long period of daily effort.Qigong is active and passive. This balance of movement and stillness is unique to Qigong.
Qi (Chi, Ki) is the building block of everything, which fills the whole universe. There is a constant energy exchange of inner and outer Qi through our pores. This natural exchange process can be amplified by directing our thoughts first to the sky, and then to our bodies. When energy blocks are dissolved, Qi can flow through our body and bring life energy to every cell.By opening ourselves up to the universe, blockages are dissolved and a increasing flow of Qi is rushing through our being, filling every cell of our body with life energy. When this happens we feel balanced, healthy, happy, energized and vitalized.
Creating an Energy Field ¹
By creating an energy field healing is amplified. This can be done just for yourself before you start your Qi exercise, or in a group setting. For a group setting
The facilitator (you) is harmonizing the thinking of the members of a group for learning or healing. Have the group close their eyes. Then survey the group with your eyes, forming a boundary around the group including you. Then verbally relax the members from head to toe. Then direct the group to alternately think of blue sky and then their bodies, brining Qi down from the sky to form a huge energy field surrounding everyone in the group.
For yourself
Intend to create an energy field, include yourself and whatever you wish, think blue sky/body alternately.
For a healing
Merge all present persons including yourself into one being. Remember, you are not emitting your own Qi, you are facilitating the Qi field for healing.
Cleansing Qigong
Raise your arms palms up above your head.
Call on the energy of the sky (the sun, the wind, the trees,)
Allow the energy you called upon to enter at the top of your head (baihui)
Bring the energy down over the front of your body, all while you very slowly bring down your arms. Let is slowly wash over your face, your throat, your chest, stomach, down to huyien. then let it flow down the front of your legs, down to your feet and from your feet out through the bubbeling spring (yongquan) again 3 feet into Mother Earth.
Swallow saliva.
Repeat two times (3 in total)

After this Cleansing Qigong do the grounding as follows:Male: With your right hand placed on your navel and your left hand covering your right hand, draw a spiral with 36 revolutions working clockwise from the navel out. After completing the first spiral, draw a new spiral of 24 revolutions by reversing the direction and working from the outside in, ending at the navel.
Female: With your left hand placed on your navel and your right hand covering your left hand, draw a spiral with 36 revolutions working counterclockwise from the navel out. After completing the first spiral, draw a new spiral of 24 revolutions by reversing the direction and working from the outside in, ending at the navel.Stay for three complete breaths or as long as you wish. At that point you may direct the collected Qi to any part of your body to increase your well-being.
note: If you are in a building direct the energy out your bubbling spring, across the floor of the building and then down the walls into Mother Earth. That way you avoid dumping your washed off energy onto people underneath you. It might give them a headache !Resources
